The power of mindset in creating a happier life

Fall is in the air and the presence of pumpkin-spiced lattes has us thinking a lot about change. Specifically, the type of change that helps us create a happier lifestyle. Spoiler alert: it's not always what we think.

So often, we get caught up believing that if we could just change X, Y, and Z about our lives, well then we'd be happy. But in reality, our external circumstances make up only one small component of our actual happiness! Our mindset towards our circumstances is even more important. For instance, do we see a challenge at work as a stressor or an opportunity for growth? Do we see a mistake we made at home as a catastrophic occurrence or a chance to learn something new about ourselves?

BUT, even knowing the power of mindset, we're only human and sometimes we get bogged down. That's why, every once in a while, we look to our favorite TED talks to give us the kick in the butt we need to get our mindset back on track. We thought we'd share one on the power of positive thinking just in case it's the reminder you've been looking for: The happy secret to better work.

In the talk, they recommend a few things that could be fun to try out this week:
