Every afternoon there will be time set aside for outdoor rec. We'll have some awesome bonus workshop options and guided hikes available. For an extra fee, there is a beginner rock climbing course Friday afternoon, a white water rafting trip on Saturday afternoon, and a rock climbing excursion to the amazing Lover’s Leap climbing destination on Sunday after the event is over. There is limited space for all these events - tickets available at checkout.

Lotus, California is a small town just across the river from its more famous neighbor, Coloma (known for being the origin of the California gold rush). We’ll be staying at the EarthTrek Expeditions property - a whitewater rafting camp located right on the water’s edge of the South Fork American River. This location is (literally) on top of a premier rafting destination, thirty minutes from outdoor climbing, one hour from the renowned Lover’s Leap climbing area, and surrounded by lovely California hiking in all directions. From the moment you step onto the grounds, EarthTrek will bring you back to childhood summer camp with its canvas tents, wood architecture, and large outdoor group areas. Surrounded by tall pines and the sound of the rushing river in the background, this property has everything you need to strike the balance between “roughing it” and “retreat.” Not far from your padded bunks are showers, real bathrooms, and plenty of spots to hang up a hammock.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be included on Friday and Saturday. We'll also provide brunch on Sunday. We plan to host a variety of delicious vegetarian meals (including a meal from our favorite “future of protein” company - Beyond Meat). We’ll also have options for gluten-free and vegan eaters. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, and/or are concerned about meals please contact us via email and we’ll work out a solution. No personal camp stoves on the premises please!

We encourage Outwilders to purchase a bunk in the canvas tents onsite - these accommodations will help you meet fellow attendees, sleep well, and have an easy spot to crash / grab things throughout the day. Each bunk comes with a large pad so all you need is a sleeping bag (or sheets and a blanket) and you’re good to go! Each canvas tent will be shared with 3-5 bunkmates. There will also be an area to set up your own tent if you prefer to do so.

For those of you interested in staying on Sunday after Outwild 2019, our hosts have EarthTrek have graciously opened their doors for an extra night. You may select Sunday night lodging at checkout ($35 for canvas tents, $20 for camping).

You can purchase a seat in our shuttle van from Sacramento airport on Thursday evening and back to Sacramento airport on Sunday afternoon (limited spaces available). This shuttle van will depart from baggage claim on Thursday at 7 pm sharp and leave the event property at 1:30 pm on Sunday. Thursday/Sunday shuttle trips are not sold separately. If you purchase a shuttle ticket, please plan your flights accordingly so as not to leave other group members waiting.

Outside of the airport shuttle, we will not provide transportation to the event, however, we will have a Facebook group for attendees to help coordinate carpooling. During the event we will have limited transportation to and from off-site activities - we are looking for our Outwild community to come together for ride sharing for those without a vehicle as necessary.
